The opinion of the medical

Dysmenorrhea is a common symptom, particularly among very young women who begin menstruation. Nevertheless, it is not a symptom of "banal". The first menstruation can be alleviated by taking ibuprofen (OTC) or prescription NSAIDs. If this is not enough, oral contraceptives (estrogen-progestin or progestin alone), if need continuous shooting (which is the cycle at rest and suspended the onset of menstruation) is recommended. If dysmenorrhea is severe (endometriosis, in particular), the use of an intra-uterine progesterone (Mirena ®)) must be given, even among very young women who had never been pregnant. Indeed, endometriosis is a threat to future fertility and should therefore be treated as effectively as possible.
