No no, my monomania about the oatmeal is still not gone ... I still dutifully swallowed my bowl of oatmeal with rice milk every morning and to drag around, turning a crumble or cookies. So when I finally got hold the book Good to the Grain, which made me feel like the last few weeks and is dedicated to pastry made from flour complete, I immediately jumped to the chapter on oatmeal, some to find my happiness. Bingo: pancakes made from oatmeal, a recipe that could only please me.
The porridge, do you see? Less glamorous, it does not: they are oatmeal cooked in twice their volume of water, and eaten with a pinch of salt (the lucky days). A typical Scottish specialty which I still remember: during the school trip in high school, I had to be the one to like it. What do you, that's my boiled-addict side *.
But back to our pancakes ... Ultra soft with oatmeal, sweet and delicious with the flavor of oats (flour and flakes) and molasses (present but not marked). To be enjoyed warm, plain or with a thin layer of raspberry jam or mashed hazelnut. Yum.
And finally on this excellent book ... If you read English, do not hesitate, it is really a collection of treasures.
