Travel Discounts

Travel Discounts Worth Looking for

I have always been fascinated with old creole french architecture. Once I was given the opportunity to visit the “Big Easy”, I jumped at the chance. I couldn't wait to hit the garden district. I had seen so many pictures of old wrought iron fences and gates surrounding the above ground cemeteries and old homes that filled the french quarter.

Before my trip, I decided to do a little research first. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I also wanted to find some discounts on some New Orleans hotels. I would love to experience Mardi Gras or maybe jazz fest someday, but luckily I was going during the off season, so there were many hotels for me to choose from in the area I wanted to stay in the most.

The town was exactly like I expected it to be. It was filled with the most fascinating history, mysterious occurrences and most of all, old world charm. I was fortunate enough to meet a few wonderful french creole natives in the hotel I was staying in. These people had so many interesting stories to tell about the goings on of the city, both past and present. I learned more from those people, than I ever would have from anywhere else.

I was so glad to have had that opportunity. I was also pleased with the discounts I received on my hotel room. I was also able to find a reduced price plane ticket because I traveled in the middle of the week. My hotel ended up giving me a a few complimentary dinner vouchers, so I was able to sample a few authentic creole dishes at half the price. I saved a lot of money and was still able to enjoy the many sights, sounds and people of that wonderful town.
