"Marble Mountain Caves"

exploring the entrance to White Marble Hall Cave near Great Sand Dunes

High up the slopes of Marble Mountain lie a number of caves; quite possibly the highest natural caves in all of North America. The entrances to Marble Cave and White Marble Hall Cave are difficult to spot unless you are nearly standing in front of them.  Early in the season (spring or early summer) it may be impossible to locate the caves due to snow which can accumulate and hide the entrances.
